Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands?!?
My fiance and I are trying to plan our honeymoon. We want a beautiful, quaint getaway with beautiful beaches. We mainly want to relax, but we do want to do various activities such as shop, snorkel, horseback ride, etc. Price is a big issue. We also want a location that is rich in culture and history and that has a decent nightlife as we are both 21. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated!

Any ideas how to pay for a honeymoon when you are on a very tight budget?
My fiance and I are getting married in October and looking for a place to honeymoon that’s not gonna cost a fortune. We can’t ask either of our families because they’re already helping out with the wedding.
We’re wanting to go to a beach such as Hawaii, Caribbean, Virgin Islands, Florida & Florida Keys or Hilton Head Island. Everything is so expensive. We’re looking around the $900-$1000 range. Any suggestions, ideas or advice?
Go on a Cruise, In October you can find great deals because is off season. Everything is included and you can find deals for 4 days Caribean or Mexico Cruises for about $350 per person. If you live close to a Port of Departure you can definetly do this on your budget.

What part of the country are you in?
PS/ Forget Hawaii. One plane ticket will cost you $1000
Which is the better US Virgin Island?
Looking for a place for our honeymoon next May. Any thoughts on a nice place to stay in the Virgin Islands? Or a place other than the USVI?
as a longtime resident i can say that there is really no "best" u.s. virgin island, there is only the one that has the place and activities you are looking for. st. croix is the largest and most economical u.s. virgin island. it is mostly flat, features beautiful beaches, a small casino, a rain forest and beautiful ruins and cultural museums. st. john is mostly national park, with ruins, hiking, beaches. it’s also the pricier of the three. st. thomas is the undisputed shopping center, but that portion is only concentrated in the southern ports; the remainder is verdant, with beautiful beaches, historic tours and many more dining and nightlife options. water island is just off st. thomas, and while you will need to have everything you need brought in, you will find a beautiful beach, friendly people and super levels of peace and quiet.
there are direct flights available to st. thomas and st. croix, with ongoing ferry services to the other two islands. st. john has car barge service as well, so you are able to bring your car over but just check with the rental agency first! there are also car rental agencies located on st. john.
ask yourself what your idea of your perfect honeymoon would be… chances are you will find it on all 3 of the greater u.s. virgin islands and the relatively undiscovered water island. sorry there is no definitive answer here.
Question about the Virgin Islands National Park..?
Has anyone every been and stayed on Cinnamon Bay Campground? Or any other campground in the V.I. National Park? My fiancee and I have been looking at it at a possible honeymoon destination. If anyone knows anything about it I would love to know! Do you think its worth it? Were the cottages good, bad, or what? Has anyone stayed in the already set up tents? Was there plenty of things to do for 3-4 days? Just any info anyone has on it would be great!! Thanks!

Where should we go on our honeymoon vacation?
Here are our top choices:
Puerto Rico
Bahamas
Bermuda
U.S. Virgin Islands
Dominican Republic
Antigua
Anguilla
St.Kitts
If you’ve been to any of these Caribbean places, tell us what your experience was like!
I’ve been to Grand Bahama, Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Antigua, and Anguilla. I would choose Bermuda, St. Thomas, or Anguilla for their beauty. For seculsion, relaxation, and most pristine beaches go with Anguilla. For vistas, sunsets, and shopping – St. Thomas. Bermuda has lush foliage, pretty beaches, and cleanliness. You can’t rent a car there, so you must rely on the bus or a cab. The scooters are very dangerous to ride in the traffic and prohibits any cocktails.
Has anyone ever been to St.Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands?
If so, please give me tips on places to go for shopping, eating, playing, etc… I’m going in November for my delayed honeymoon!
Shopping, downtown Charlotte Amalie Main Street and the waterfront has many stores to browse in. Or Havensight Mall next to the cruise dock .All duty free and no sales tax.
Stores are open Monday-Saturday 9-5
When you arrive at the airport in St Thomas, pick up your free guide of (Places to Explore in St Thomas and St John) in the baggage claim department.
Also get your free rum punch in baggage claim
Places to eat, Cuzzin’s Caribbean Restaurant is a local favorite.
Blue Moon Cafe (Secret Harbor Resort). Caribbean lobster, fresh sea foods, steak, pasta with a beach front setting.
Another favorite, Room With A View Wine Bar and Bistro
(Bluebeard’s Castle)
Your resort will be able to give you some recommendations too
Places not to miss Paradise Point (fantastic views of the harbor and beyond. Ride the tramway or drive up the hill 700 feet above sea level. Have a cocktail, catch a sunset.
Drake’s Seat. The legendary mountain lookout .
Take a ferry to St John and go to the famous Trunk Bay Beach and snorkel the trail.
So much to do, eat and see. Check out this site

Congratulations on your marriage and have a great trip.)
What is the best website to get the best airline ticket rates?
My fiance and I are looking at going to the U.S. Virgin Islands for our honeymoon, and want to save money doing it. Is there a good website like Orbits that we can go to to look at ticket prices?
I always start with Kayak (www.kayak.com). It shows fares from a variety of websites, including Orbitz and CheapTickets. However, it does not typically show fares of some of the discount airlines, such as Southwest.
What I do is look at Kayak to see what airlines fly the route I want. I then check those airlines’ websites regularly until I see a price drop… Then I snag the tickets. I’ve done this for years, and have never seen a flight cheaper than booking directly through the airline.
Need suggestions for honeymoon destination for inexperienced travelers?
honeymoon in june 2009, budget is around 2,500. would like to go out of the country. thought of US virgin islands, or bahamas. NO Cruise. Any ideas of fun, inexpensive, safe place? We know we need to take reasonable safety precautions anywhere we go. Thanks for your help.
if you are inexperienced and you want to experience the world dont go tothe carribean.. its too americanized.
i would go anywhere below mexico (peru, belize etc) or even better to europe (i think any further will blow your budget)
Safe and inexpensive place for a honeymoon?
We have a couple of places in mind: US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Costa Rica. Where’s a safe and inexpensive, yet fun place to go on a honeymoon? We like adventure and the beach.
I’m lucky enough to have been to all three places that you’ve mentioned and loved them all for different reasons. The Caribbean islands are beautiful and the sea/beaches stunning in parts, but they’re not inexpensive. It does depend on time of year though?
Out of your three definitely Costa Rica is the cheapest place to go, beware of travelling during their ‘green season’ (Approx May-Sep) when rainfall can be very heavy in certain parts. But then of course Hurricane season kicks in for the Caribbean too during that time – and lasts until Nov.
USVI’s and Bahamas are not as easy on the wallet as Costa Rica is, whilst there are options, you’ll have more of a choice in Costa Rica.
There are some all-inclusive resorts in Costa Rica too, if that’s your ‘thing’? I loved Costa Rica for the adventurous day trips that I could do -pretty much from all over CR – zip-lining, white water rafting, wildlife treks, staying in funky little huts etc.
Hope that helps a little…you may want to add Belize and Honduras to your list too? I’ve not actually been to those but heard fab. things about them, particularly Belize.

A heart stopping beautiful beach. Probably one of the most beautiful on St John.
